Advent Day 2 – Fitch Family

Advent Day 2 – Fitch Family

DECEMBER 2, 2020
“ And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of
the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to
make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” Luke 1:17

John the Baptist one fascinating Bible character – A Wild Man whose sole purpose was
to “make ready a people” for the Lord. An oft overlooked Christmas character, John’s
calling can serve as a Christmas inspiration for us. In a tumultuous world with
restrictions and illness, we have the Gospel opportunity this Christmas to pick up the
mantle and prepare the way of the Lord. We believe Jesus will return to establish His
earthly kingdom, just as John the Baptist believed Jesus was the Messiah. He spoke
boldly of salvation through Christ alone. Can we do the same?

Lord, please embolden me to make known the only eternal hope this world has. Open
my eyes to the opportunities around me to show the Love of Christ, and speak to the
message of Christ this Christmas. In Jesus name, Amen
