Advent Day 24 – The Thomas Family

Advent Day 24 – The Thomas Family

December 24th

“The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:9-12

Children of God, what an amazing concept! The amount of love, care, and devotion we feel for our children can at times be overwhelming. We will do anything to ensure their safety, wellbeing, and happiness. We delight in them day after day; their innocence brings us joy. The very idea that we have the right to become children of God, children of a perfect Heavenly Father is overwhelming. If we, imperfect sinful humans, love our children this much, how beautiful it must be to become a beloved child of God.

You have been given the right to become a child of God, beloved, adored, cherished, cared for, if only you receive Him and believe in His name. It really is that simple. Are you ready to receive Him?

Dear Lord, Please open our hearts to receive you.  Let us believe in your name with all of our hearts, minds, souls, and strength. Give us the joy of children as we celebrate Your true light coming into the world. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
