“Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to
the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will
be blessed through you and your offspring.”
Genesis 28:14
This scripture is a repeat of God’s promise to Abram/Abraham in Genesis 12:2
and Genesis 13:16. Here we see God promising Abraham’s grandson, Jacob,
that his descendants would be too many to count. Also, ‘all people’s would be
blessed through you and your offspring’. Little did they know that one of these
offspring would be Jesus! Jesus, the Son of God, who would willingly come to
earth as a human and be born of the virgin Mary. Jesus’ sacrifice to atone for
sin is available to ‘all people’s!’
God, we are so blessed to be counted in your family! Thank you for Jesus who
was willing to come to earth to be the sacrifice needed to atone for our sin.
