DECEMBER 3
“This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah the son of David, the son of Abraham.” Matthew 1:1
Biblical hope is defined as “the confident assurance that something will come to pass”. It isn’t a wish, or a possibility-it is a certainty. At the fall God promised that He would send a Rescuer, a Messiah to redeem our broken souls and through Him make all things new again. This genealogy is a reminder to us that God does indeed keep His promises. Our hope that He will make this broken world new is a certainty. The shadows may deepen but because of a God who never changes and Jesus Christ, our hope is a future reality.
Father, thank you for Your faithfulness that lets us hope in You. Please give us the ability to trust You in spite of what we see around us and to eagerly await the fulfillment of Your promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Lee and Colleen Johnson

Lee and Colleen are retired; parents and grandparents to a lively bunch who all live in Newberg and bring them much joy. Please pray that they will be wise and faithful in showing their family God’s love and grace.
